I was stopped for drinking and driving five times before I was 18.

Only one time did the cops take action in the form of a citation and calling my parents. Times are different now for sure. Back then it was a lot of warnings and kind of reasonable thinking, albeit arguably tighter enforcement back then might have discouraged the less than desirable behavior that got me in more trouble later.

I've been arrested three times in my life.

I spent one night in jail with each arrest.
The first two arrests came two consecutive Saturday nights in a row in the 1991 time frame when I was in College at Virginia Tech.
I drank a lot back then. Beer and Liquor. I had very high tolerance. I did things I shouldn't have done. I did things I am not overly proud of.
That said, I lived life and I've paid my dues many times over for those actions. My mom has always said I could never be a Politician based on what I've done. She's right for sure.
The people these days are so critical of politicians, they ignore murders, rapists and child predators while vilifying the pot smokers and card carrying dui holders. Yep. For sure. I would have been destroyed by the media had I not started publishing on things they weren't covering before I started speaking out.

Arrest #1

1991 - One night I drank a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 along with some other beer (if I recall). I got drunk. No big deal. I was driving. I was fine as far as I was concerned. I got pulled over for no apparent reason. (truly). I wasn't speeding. I wasn't swerving. The cop said "it looked like I was going fast around a curve". This was early 1990's they could do that. I blew a .26 . I know. A little bit higher than the 1.0 limit back then. I went to jail and my friend Kit didn't want me to go alone so he jumped in front the cop car as I was being taken away. The rest of this story is interesting. Some other time.

Arrest #2

1991 - a week later -- Exactly one week later. I had never been arrested before and I thought to myself, "I'm going to drink that mad dog 20/20 again". That was odd how that played out. A friend and I walked into a Bar. I was drunker than I was the week prior. I was fading in and out of waking consciousness (but walking and talking just fine). I don't remember much from that night. A lot of it came to me in the 24-48 hours after the fact. So this was pieced together. I recall seeing a guy who wasn't a college student in the bar. He was doing something dumb, possibly to women. Bothering them or something. I told him to leave them alone or calm down or something like that. There was some type of verbal altercation. My buddy and I left the bar. I remember sitting in front of the lyric theater on the park bench there. Then we walked back into the bar. When we got in there, the same guy started accusing me of stealing his motorcycle helmet. I got pissed. yelling and maybe some pushing ensued. The bouncer, who I knew a little bit, got involved. Next thing I know, the cops were there and I was arrested for felony theft of a motorcycle helmet. I didn't own a motorcycle. I don't recall leaving the bar with the helmet. My buddy didn't recall me leaving with the helmet. I woke up in jail the next morning and given it was my second time in 8 days, with less memory about this one than the week prior, I was a little more concerned. Long story short. The Felony got reduced. The helmet, if it was ever stolen was supposedly never recovered. I had to pay for that and fines. I had to go to alcohol awareness course. A lot to this story is interesting too, like the idea that theft of anything over $249 back then could have cost me my voting rights for life? Maybe some other time.

Arrest #3

2007 - I spent 18 hours in Baltimore Central Booking for running into a cop at noon who had severe mental illness. See document below.
